Antam unit obtains forestry permit for W. Papua nickel mine

IDX-listed mining firm PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (Antam) said that its subsidiary PT Gag Nikel has finally obtained the necessary forestry permit for mining activities and developing supporting facilities at its nickel concession in West Papua.
Antam President Director Tedy Badrujaman said in a statement Friday that this was a milestone for Antam?s nickel business expansion, to be followed up with related studies for developing nickel mine in the area.
According to JORC 2012 report, PT Gag?s West Papua concession has nickel saprolite resources 188.3 million wet metric tons, and nickel limonite reserves of 170.4 million wmt.
