Antang to boost 2010 coal production

South Kalimantan coal miner PT Antang Gunung Meratus (AGM) will ramp up coal production in 2010 to 2 million tonnes.

The Company?s President Heri Cahyana told a parliamentary hearing in Jakarta on Wednesday that it produced 885,000 tonnes in 2009.

He said 1.7 million tonnes of 2010 production will be shipped to overseas market with the balance would go to domestic market.

The company, which is a second generation coal contract of work holder, operates a 22,000 hectares concession which covers four regencies.

The company produces coal with CV ranges from 5,100-5,900 kcal/kg (ADB). (godang/bernard)
