Antang to double coal production next year

South Kalimantan coal miner PT Antang Gunung Meratus (AGM) plans to double its coal production to 4 million tonnes next year, from this year?s target of 2 million tonnes, the company?s official told Petromindo.Com.
AGM will exploit more pits within its area concession in Suatotatakan district of Tapin regency as the company has secured permit from forestry ministry. At present, AGM hired three local contractors to conduct its mining activity, including PT BSS, PT Asba, the official said.
AGM is on track to meet this year?s target as of mid October the company has produced around 1.6 million tonnes of coal, the official said.
All its coal output is sold to its group?s trading unit Baramulti Group, the official added.
The company, which is a second generation coal contract of work holder, operates a 22,000 hectares concession. The company produces coal with CV ranges from 5,100-5,900 kcal/kg (ADB). (denny)
