Aon Indonesia eyeing insurance contracts with 10,000 MW power plants

Insurance provider PT Aon Indonesia is eying insurance contracts with at least 10,000 MW of power plant project in Indonesia this year.
Bambang Suseno, Executive Vice President Sales & Business Development of PT Aon Indonesia, told Petromindo.com that this year several projects of power plant projects each with a capacity of around 1000 MW to 2000 MW are expected to achieve financial closing or start construction this year.
?When the projects start development, the developers will surely need insurance service. We are optimistic to gain contracts to cover at least 10,000 MW power plant projects,? he said on the sidelines of the Sixth Independent Power Producer Conference held by Petromindo recently.
?We were recently awarded insurance contracts by Cirebon Energi Prasarana for a 1,000 MW (Cirebon Expansion) power project and (by PT Dharma Hydro Nusantara) for PLTA Batang Toru hydro power plant in North Sumatra with 500 MW capacity,? he said.
Bambang revealed that in the last five years, AON has been appointed as insurance provider for 3,000 MW to 4.000 MW capacities, comprising of mostly small power plants with capacity of around 100 MW.
