AP I to revamp a number of airports

State-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura I (AP 1) plans to revamp a number of its airports this year to help realize the target to reach a capacity of 140 million customers in 2023.
News portal kontan.co.id quoted AP 1 President Director Faik Fahmi as saying Wednesday that the company’s current 13 airports have a combined capacity to accommodate 77 million people.
He said that the Makassar Airport will be the first to be revamped this year to expand the capacity from 7 million to 14 million customers. Total investment requirement is Rp 3.2 trillion.
The Terminal 1 of airport in Surabaya will also under expansion to 14 million customers from 6 million. Other airport to undergo expansion work include those in Manado (North Sulawesi Province) and Kupang (East Nusa Tenggara).
AP 1 manages 13 airports including I Gusti Ngurah Rai, Juanda, Sultan Hasanuddin, SAMS Sepinggan, Frans Kaisiepo, Adisutjipto, Lombok, Sam Ratulangi, Syamsudin Noor, Ahmad Yani, El Tari, Pattimura, Adi Soemarmo, and Yogyakarta International Airport. (*)
