APAC seeking partners to develop E. Kalimantan coal project

ASX-listed APAC Coal Ltd said it is seeking partners to jointly conduct coal exploration activities at its concession area in East Kalimantan, while at the same time carry on litigation process over ownership dispute.

?In order to assist APAC to advance the litigation process and exploration activities, APAC is in serious negotiations with shortlisted strategic partners who will provide funds and expertise to expedite the overall development of the concession area,? the company said.

The company said it has been advised by its Indonesian litigation lawyer about the formal outcome of the Judicial Review issued by the Indonesian Supreme Court.

The Judicial Review verdict mentioned that the administrative court does not have any competency to examine the title of ownership of the shares of PT Batubara Selaras Sapta (PT BSS) and that only the district civil court has such a competence.

On Monday 17th October, 2011, APAC lawyers from The Law Offices of Amir Syamsuddin and Partners filed the lawsuit (civil claim) with the District Court of Southern Jakarta. The registration number of this Civil Suit is 561/Pdt.G/2011/PN.JKT.SEL. (romel)
