APC ramps up coal trading volume

Coal trading firm PT Asia Pacific Coalindo (APC) targets to increase trading volume to 1-1.5 million tonnes this year from 800,000 tonnes in 2007.

Director Giovani Tanzil said 90 percent of the company?s sales would be for export market includes Taiwan, Japan and South East Asian countries, with the remaining balance would go to domestic market.

The company is a subsidiary of conglomerate Tamara Group.

Tanzil said the company sourced the coal from sister company South Kalimantan mining firm PT.Bangun Banua Persada and other mines in Kalimantan.

The company mostly trades coal with minimum CV of 6,300 Kcal/kg, he said. (denny)
