The government has advised US-based Asia Pacific Exploration Consolidated (APEC) to carry out a joint study of the coal bed methane (CBM) gas potential at its Bunga Mas PSC on shore South Sumatra with Dart Energy, and IDX-listed coal miner PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA).
?Indeed, there has been suggestion for a joint study by APEC, Dart Energy and PTBA to look into the CBM potential at the Bunga Mas PSC,? Naryanto Wagiman, Director for the Management of Upstream Businesses at the Directorate General of Oil and Gas, told Petromindo.com Tuesday.
Separately, Dart Energy confirmed the planned joint study. ?It?s still at the planning stage,? said Unggul Setyatmoko of Dart Energy, without providing further details.
APEC acquired the Bunga Mas PSC in 2009 from Greenfields Petroleum and Anadarko.
