Apexindo bags $146 million extension of offshore rig contract from Total

Publicly listed drilling contractor PT Apexindo Pratama Duta Tbk announced Monday that it has secured extension of offshore rig contract from Total E&P Indonesie for the period of 5 years valued at approximately US$146 million.

 

The contract extension is for Maera, a submersible swampbarge offshore rig, the company said.

 

According to the company, rig Maera is one of Apexindo’s four swampbarge rigs being contracted by Total for exploration and production activities in Tunu, East Kalimantan and the rig has been in full operation for Total since 1992.

 

Total is the largest gas producer in Indonesia and possesses long-term commitment with the government of Indonesia to conduct exploration and production activities in Indonesia especially in East Kalimantan. (denny)
