Apexindo starts towing Maera Rig to Papua

IDX-listed oil and gas drilling contractor PT Apexindo Pratama Duta Tbk is currently conducting preparation to tow the Maera Rig (swamp barge), which will be shipped out from the Mahakam block in East Kalimantan to South Sorong, Papua.
?The towing of Maera rig will be carried out to Papua tomorrow,? Agus Sidianto, General Manager Offshore Operations Division of Apexindo, told Petromindo.com, Tuesday, adding that the rig is expected to arrive in Papua in 15 days.
The Maera is part of the six rigs leased by Total E&P Indonesie (TEPI) from Apexindo. The lease contracts for the rigs Raisis, Raniworo, Raissa, Yani, and Soehanah have been recently extended.
Previously, Head of Media relations of TEPI, Kristanto Hartadi, said that the company will start drilling the Anggrek Hitam exploration well within the South West Birdhead Papua Block in June of this year.
