APOL wins Tarahan-Suralaya coal transportation contract

IDX-listed State coal mining firm PT.Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam tbk. (PTBA) said on Thursday it had picked shipping firm PT.Arpeni Pratama Oceal Lines (APOL) to transport coal from Tarahan coal port in Lampung to Indonesia Power?s Tender Committee Sigit Basuki told Petromindo.Com that APOL will transport the coal for 1-year period. He said APOL was declared winner after beating two other undisclosed tender participants.

He did not give further detail.

According to tender announcement issued on October 31, 2008, PTBA will require panamax with capacity of 60,000 tonnes to transport 1.44 million tones of coal (+/-10%) for a period of 12 months. (denny)
