Apolo Gold announces proposed drilling program on Lampung prospect

The independent geologist/engineer visited the property late July 2002 and assembled 29 samples from the property for independent laboratory assay. Phase 1 trench sampling results indicate a large area of anomalous gold. Within the sampled trenches occur quartz breccia veins and stockwork that contain high-grade values.
The property and surrounding area contains numerous mineralized showings, over a relatively large area that indicates the epithermal system is large and therefore has the potential for hosting economic precious metal deposits.
Five shaft samples range from 1.98 grams of gold to 18.40 grams of gold per tonne and 24.0 grams of silver to 158 grams of silver per tonne.
One of the holes in a previous drill program conducted by Paragon Resources obtained a high-value 43.8 grams of gold per tonne and 820 grams of silver per tonne at a depth of 60-61 meters. This high-grade drill intercept and the other holes in this program have not been followed up to date. Apolo Gold personnel will be on site in October 2002 to obtain a drilling contract and prepare drill sites.
The geologist report recommends a US$341,000 exploration and drill program consisting of 1,000 meters HQ size diamond drilling, prospecting, geological mapping, and sampling to test the economic potential of the property. Seven drill targets have been identified.
Apolo Gold acquired Napal Gold project in April this year. (alex)
