Apolpo, Xolare partner to drive CCUS development in Indonesia

US-based CCUS consulting and carbon project development Apolpo LLC and  energy firm PT Xolare RCR Energy, Tbk (IDX: SOLA) have entered into an exclusive partnership to develop Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) projects in Indonesia. This long-term collaboration aims to decarbonize key sectors such as energy, manufacturing, and heavy industries.

Under the agreement, SOLA will serve as the exclusive representative of Apolpo LLC in Indonesia, taking responsibility for designing, developing, and implementing CCUS initiatives.

Dr. Joel B. Carboni, Principal of Apolpo, expressed confidence in the potential of the partnership, citing Indonesia’s abundant geological storage potential and supportive policy environment. "Indonesia is strategically positioned to become a CCUS hub in Southeast Asia, and our partnership with Xolare is a step towards realizing this vision," he said.

Mochamad Bhadaiwi, President Director of SOLA, emphasized the significance of the collaboration, highlighting its potential to unlock investment opportunities and support Indonesia’s transition to clean energy. The initial phase will focus on identifying emission sources, mapping carbon storage locations, and establishing necessary infrastructure, while exploring the creation of a CCUS excellence center and integration with the carbon credit market.
