Coal mining and trading company PT Apple Coal Indonesia has acquired a coal concession in Tanah Merah, East Kalimantan.

Chief Development Officer Ben Lawson told Petromindo.com that currently the company is planning to continue the drilling which has been started by the previous concession owner.

"Basically, the concession is not too big. It is just about 96 hectares, but all of the land consists of coal," he said adding the company is expecting to start drilling in October 2013 to find out reserves.
