Coal miner PT Apple Coal said that the company prefers to continue doing drilling works in its Musi Banyuasin concessions in South Sumatra in waiting for more conducive market of coal after its prices declined in recent months.
?We could be in production now but I told my partner to be better to just keep on drilling works due to the recent weak market price. We would bring in ground equipment in the next few months,? Ben Lawson, President - Mining of the company told Petromindo.com.
He said that the company would complete its JORC in Banyuasin concession this month. Apple Coal is a joint venture between India firm Apple Group and PT Motus Gemilang, Motus Gemilang.
The company has three coalmines in South Sumatra and four in East Kalimantan. Currently, the company?s coal output is derived from one coalmine in Musi Banyuasin regency and two other mines in East Kalimantan, which are located in Loa Kulu and Muara Badak areas, respectively.
