PT Apple Coal, a wholly owned subsidiary of India-based Apple Group said that the company would sell more than 3 million metric tons of coal in 2012.
?On the production side, one of Apple?s East Kalimantan mid-calorie mines is in operation now and another high-calorie (PCI) mine will be operational in Q4 2012? In Sumatra we?ve conducted extensive drilling and are now finalizing our JORC report which is showing extremely high resources,? Ben Lawson, Chief Development Officer of Apple Coal told CoalAsia.
?Having a good diversity in our assets (from low-rank to very high-rank) is what will set us apart? and our trading team has made head-ways during the slow-down this year with additional supplies to grow our trading business into next year.?
In December 2009, Motus formed a Strategic Partnership with the Apple Group of Companies; a 30 year old, multi-faceted Indian corporation with offices and operations throughout India, Hong Kong, Dubai and most recently Indonesia.
Lawson said that Apple Coal has been extremely successful in acquiring 7 coal mining concessions in the Indonesian provinces of East Kalimantan and South Sumatra.
