PT Provisit Asia Selaras, an oil importer owned by a German company, has alleged possible KKN (corruption, collusion and nepotism) practices in the appointment of Aramco, which had been appointed to import crude oil from Iran to feed the Cilacap refinery.
In its report to the Indonesian Corruption Watch, Provisit said that its offering price was much lower than that of Aramco but Pertamina still selected the Saudi company as the importer of the crude oil.
In addition to Provisit and Aramco, several oil importers including Setdco Corporation have submitted their bids to handle Pertamina?s crude oil imports.
Like Provisit, Setdco also complained and made a similar protest although the latter had yet to report its complaint to the ICW.
In the bids, Setdco offered a price of $23.15 per barrel for the import of crude oil for Cilacap, which could reach a total value of 2.88 million per day. Provisit put its price tag at $21.25 per barrel while Aramco offered a price of $24 per barrel.(*)
