Aramco, others to invest in RI

Investors from countries such as Russia, the Netherlands, Norway and Singapore have expressed interest to continue investing in Indonesia?s upstream and downstream oil and gas sector, according to Vice Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Rudi Rubiandini.
Rudi told Petromindo.com on Wednesday that he had met with top foreign government and corporate officials during the International Oil and Gas Business Forum in Norway on August 27-28.
He said that among the foreign firms planning to make new investment in Indonesia are Aramco Overseas Company which has expressed interest in developing oil refinery in Indonesia; Norway?s PetroManagement, which plans to carry out research and development in oil and gas sector; Jurong Shipyard; China?s Cosco Shipyard and Hyundai. ?Russia has also expressed interest to invest in the upstream sector,? he added.
?They have just realized that in the eastern part of the world, there is an interesting investment prospect (in oil and gas sector),? Rudi said. He added that Norway has also expressed interest in making investment in the oil and gas infrastructure facilities in Indonesia such as rigs, platforms, and mini LNG receiving facilities.
