ASX-listed Arc Exploration Limited (ARX) said a new phase of diamond drilling program, which commenced in February of this year, is still in progress at the Trenggalek gold and copper project in East Java.
?This +3,000-meter drilling program is still in progress. It is designed to test for mineralized extensions to parts of the large Sentul and Buluroto epithermal gold vein systems that were previously tested with scout diamond drilling by ARX in 2010/11. Only a small part of each vein system (less than 5-10%) has been previously drill tested,? the company said in a statement Monday.
ARX said that a total of 1433-meter in 10 holes has been completed to-date in the current program. These holes test the northern projections of the East Sentul and Buluroto veins.
The company said it has received the initial gold results from the first five holes; STDH01 to STDH03 (East Sentul) and BRDH01 to BRDH02 (Buluroto). Narrow low-grade gold intercepts were returned in two holes on the East Sentul vein, STDH02 and STDH03. The other three holes returned no significant gold results.
?ARX is awaiting the multi element results and a detailed report in order to fully assess the significance of the results received to date. This will be reported accordingly,? the statement said.
It further said that drilling continues on the Sentul and Buluroto prospects and further results will be reported once these are received. The other ongoing program is the detailed prospecting and mapping in areas to the southwest of Buluroto and Sentul for new epithermal vein and porphyry targets.
The Trenggalek Exploration IUP tenement covers about 300 square kilometers and is located in the same arc segment that hosts the giant Tumpangpitu porphyry gold-copper deposit in the Southern Mountains of East Java.
