Australia mining firm Arc Exploration Limited reported Thursday further highly encouraging gold results from trenching at the Baku prospect in Bima gold project, West Nusa Tenggara province.

Gold intercepts include 4m at 15 g/t Au & 4m at 34.3 g/t Au within a zone of 86m at 2.78 g/t Au. The Baku prospect is located on the southern side of the Bima Exploration IUP tenement where previous sampling returned 12m at 1.7 g/t Au & 3m at 6.7 g/t Au, the company said.

Managing Director John Carlile commented that ?These results confirm the potential for a significant new gold discovery on the island of Sumbawa, which is host to the giant Batu Hijau and Elang gold-copper deposits.?

Further trenching, three-dimensional induced polarization and ground magnetics surveys are underway at both Baku and, another prospect, Kowo and will be used to plan a scout drilling program to commence in early 2011.

The Bima Exploration tenement covers 250 square kilometers and is prospective for intermediate to highsulphidation epithermal gold and porphyry copper-gold deposits. The project has excellent infrastructure with a network of sealed to graded roads traversing almost all of the tenement area, it said.

The company has three projects, which are located in Bima in East Sumbawa; Trenggalek in East Java; and in Papua respectively. It has set up a strategic alliance with the Anglo American group to handle the Papua project. (kanti)
