Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arcandra Tahar met on Monday with CEO of Italy?s oil and gas firm Eni in Rome, discussing among other things the Indonesian government?s gross split policy.

A senior ministry official who participated in the meeting told Petromindo.com on Tuesday that the two also discussed Eni?s plan to increase production at the Jangkrik field in Muara Bakau block to 600 mmscfd, and plan to develop the Merakes field, also in Muara Bakau, East Kalimantan.

?Merakes is still being evaluated but it is Eni?s priority (project) because located near Jangkrik,? he said, adding that Eni also discussed the Indonesia Deep Water (IDD) project, operated by Chevron, where Eni holds a 20 percent participating interest.

He said that other Eni?s projects in Indonesia were not discussed.
