Ten oil and gas contractors met on Monday with Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arcandra Tahar, where they discussed the application of the gross split scheme in new oil and gas contracts.
A source told Petromindo.com on Tuesday that the deputy minister was seeking commitment from the ten oil and gas contractors when the government later assigns to them the new 2017 oil and gas working areas, and applies the gross split scheme in the contracts.
?The oil and gas contractors were summoned by Arcandra Tahar to (among others) ask their commitment when the government assigns the companies the 2017 new oil and gas working areas. One by one, they?re asked about applying the gross split scheme (in the new contracts),? the source said.
Upstream director at the ministry, Tunggal, confirmed the meeting, but declined to comment about what was discussed because he was not present at the meeting.
?This is still confidential. (The new oil and gas working areas) are still in tender process,? he added.
The source said that the ten oil and gas contractors which participated in the meeting included Kris Energy, Repsol, Petrochina, Saka Energi, Genting Oil & Gas, Black Pearl Petroleum Energy Limited, Premier Oil, Mubadala Petroleum, Tansri Madjid Energi, and Woodside.
