Arch Coal Asia-Pacific Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of the US coal giant Arch Coal Inc., said that the company has started assessing coal business opportunities in Indonesia as part of the company?s plan to sell coal to Asia market.
?We already look in (the coal business in Indonesia) but (we) have not concluded yet. We will get there,? Renato Paladino, President of Arch Coal, said in Singapore.
?We are looking in general (both in Kalimantan and Sumatra). Of course, nowadays, most of coal (from Indonesia) comes from Kalimantan, so it is normal the people look and think about Kalimantan.?
He said that the company also looked at the opportunities in Sumatra. ?Sumatra also has huge reserves of low calorie coal,? he said without elaborating any further.
