Arie Prabowo named as new Antam president director

Shareholders of IDX-listed mining firm PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (Antam) appointed Arie Prabowo Ariotedjo on Tuesday as the company?s new President Director in a management reshuffle at the state-controlled firm, which saw the dismissal of three members of its board of directors.

Arie, who was previously director of commercial at state-controlled IDX-listed coal giant PT Bukit Asam (PTBA), replaces outgoing Tedy Badrujaman.

Sutrisno S. Tatetdagat, formerly corporate secretary of state-controlled IDX-listed tin giant PT Timah Tbk, was appointed as the new Director of Development at Antam. He replaces Johan Nababan, who was repositioned as the new Director of Human Capital and Corporate Social Responsibility, replacing outgoing I Made Surata.

Meanwhile, Tatang Hendra was appointed as the new Director of Marketing, replacing Hari Widjajanto, who was repositioned as the new Director of Operation, replacing outgoing Agus Zamzam Jamaluddin. Tatang was previously president director of PT Indonesia Chemical Alumina, a subsidiary of Antam.

The management reshuffle comes as Antam is expanding its downstream operations and as the government prepares to set up a holding company for state-controlled mining firms that include Antam, PTBA, Timah, and PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium.

During the Tuesday shareholders meeting, changes were also made in Antam?s board of commissioners. Shareholders dismissed Laode M. Kamaluddin and Hikmahanto Juwana, both independent commissioners of the company.

The meeting appointed Gumilar Rusliwa Somantri and Anang Sri Kusuwardono as the new independent commissioners.

Antam Finance Director Dimas Wikan said that the company will continue to focus on its three key commodities including gold, nickel and bauxite, and will continue to expand its downstream operations in a bid to generate greater value for its commodities.
