IDX-listed shipping company PT Arpeni Pratama Ocean Line announced that its subsidiary PT Apol Sejahtera on November 20 has sold an Indonesian-flagged vessel, MV Indrani, to a third party.
It said in a statement that the ship sale was a part of its efficiency drive, considering the still unfavorable shipping market. The transaction, it added, did not violate agreements recently signed between Arpeni and its creditors.
Early this year, the company has struck a debt restructuring deal with the creditor to help the firm cope with the tough times within the shipping industry.
Arpeni, which now gives more focus on servicing natural resources-based industries particularly coal, currently owns and operates over 70 mother vessels of various sizes such as capesize, panamax, handysize, tanker, barges, floating cranes and crew with total loading capacity amounting to more than 1 million DWT.
