PT Artha Daya Coalindo (ADC), a joint venture between PT Indonesia Power, PT Arthindo Utama and PT Desira Pratama Line, has secured a contract from South Kalimantan-based coal mining companies PT Oktasan Baruna Persada and PT Natuna Energy to transport their coal output to the Suralaya steam power plant in Banten, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Tuesday.
"We will handle the transportation of about one million ton of coal from each of the two mining companies to the Suralaya power plant," ADCs' president director Munadjat. "The contract will last for a year and we have an option to extend it for another year," he added.
Last year, the company transported about 3.5 million tons of coal to the Suralaya power plant mostly from PT Arutmin, one of major coal producers in Kalimantan. The transportation contract with Arutmin will end in the middle of this month.
"We hope we will be able sign new contracts with the other suppliers of the Suralaya power plant," he said. (*)
