Arun, Bontang LNG output down 17.3 % next year

The Arun LNG plant in Lhokseumawe, Aceh and the Badak LNG plant in Bontang, East Kalimantan, both operated by state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, expect to produce 172 standard cargoes of LNG next year, down by 17.3 percent from 208 cargoes this year.

Hari Karyuliarto, Director of Oil and Gas at Pertamina, told Petromindo on Friday that until the end of this year, both LNG plants will produce a total of 208 cargoes, including 189 cargoes from Badak, 19 cargoes from Arun.

Next year, their production is expected to decline to a total of 172 cargoes, including 158 cargoes from Badak and 14 cargoes from Arun.

He did not specify the reasons behind the decline in the production.
