Gas facilities operated by ExxonMobil Oil Indonesia in Arun, Aceh, are still running normally despite worries about security condition as the military is planning to launch security operation against the GAM independent rebels.
"So far, gas projects in the area have not been disrupted," Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro said in Yogyakarta on Thursday.
Coordinating minister for political and security affairs Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said early this week that an all-out security operations might be launched in Aceh in two weeks if GAM refused to resume peace talks with the government. Meanwhile, the Armed Forces are making preparations to dispatch army troops to Aceh.
