Arun NGL plant in Aceh operated normally after a 7.2-magnitude earthquake struck the area on Wednesday, Upstream oil, gas regulatory body BPMIGAS said on Wednesday.
Spokesman Amir Hamzah told Petromindo.Com said that U.S oil giant ExxonMobil?s operation in Aceh was also unaffected by quake.
Arun NGL is currently producing LNG at lower rate due to declining reserves of gas blocks operated by ExxonMobil and its supply contracts to East Asian buyers expire within the next few years.
An official of state oil and gas firm PT Pertamina said the 120,000 barrels per day Dumai refinery in the central part of Sumatra was also unaffected by quake. "Dumai refinery is running fine and there are no problems," the official said. (godang)
