Arun Regas receives first cargo from Tangguh

PT Perta Arun Gas (PAG), the operator of Arun LNG Receiving and Regassification Terminal (better known as Arun Regas) in Lhokseumaw, Aceh province received the first LNG cargo delivery from the Tangguh LNG plant in West Papua, with a volume of 138,000 cubic meters, on Jan. 3-4, 2015.
PAG, a subsidiary of stated owned firm PT Pertamina (Persero), said in a statement that based on plans, Arun Regas will receive a total of 15 cargoes from Tangguh throughout this year to meet the gas needs of the power plants owned by state owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) in Arun, Aceh Utara regency and in Belawan, North Sumatra province.
In order to meet the gas needs of industries in North Sumatra, which is estimated at 4 mmscfd, Arun Regas still has some LNG in its inventory, a leftover from the LNG delivered by Donggi Senoro LNG (DSLNG) plant in 2015.
Throughout 2015 since inauguration by President Joko Widodo on March 9, 2015, Arun Regas received a total of 11 cargoes of LNG, consisting of 10 cargos from Tangguh to meet the PLN?s needs and 1 cargo from DSLNG to meet the gas needs of industries in Medan. During the period, PAG managed to regassify of 27,580,000 mmBtu.
On Oct. 1, 2015, PAG was assigned by Pertamina through PT Pertamina Hulu Energi to operate the facilities to process tail gas from Arun NSO and APO fields formerly owned by ExxonMobil. Until December 2015, the firm processed 4,279,426 mmbtu of gas, 129,025 barrels of condensate and 3.25 million tons of sulfur. The gas was delivered to fertilizer firm PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda.
For this year, PAG plans to complete the development of LNG Hub and LNG Filling Station (LNG Trucking) projects.
