Arutmin spends Rp2.4 billion on community development projects in S. Kalimantan

South Kalimantan-based coal miner PT Arutmin Indonesia, which is majority owned by BHP Minerals of Australia, last year allocated Rp2.4 billion (US$=Rp8,870) for community development projects in the area, Antara news agency reported.
Arutmin?s community development manager Noval Zaruqi was quoted as saying over the weekend that the Rp2.4 billion had been used to build roads, bridges, schools and health centers, and finance economic development projects and social activities in South Kalimantan.
The projects were mostly aimed to improve the welfare of people in Lok Padi Bukit Baru, Noval said.
Arutmin operates two open-cut coal mines and a coal loading facility in South Kalimantan. (*)
