Independent power producer PT Arya Watala Capital hopes to be able to sign this year power purchase agreements (PPAs) with state-owned electricity firm PT PLN over its planned hybrid power plants to be located in 13 locations in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) and West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) provinces.
?We want the PPAs to be signed this year. The feasibility and interconnection studies have passed the PLN test. In the near future, there will be another meeting with PLN, one of which is to discuss the PPAs,? said President Director of Arya Watala Capital, Aria Witoelar to Petromindo.com recently.
He added that once the PPAs have been signed, construction will start for the hybrid power plant projects, which will combine solar photovoltaics technology and diesel generator.
He said that land acquisition process is nearly completed. Total investment for the projects is estimated at US$40 million, to be fully financed via internal funds.
As previously reported by this portal, the hybrid power plants in NTT will be developed in eight locations, in cooperation with France-based ENGIE, including Pulau Rote, Pulau Sabu, Pulau Adonara, Waikabubak, Aesesa, Lembata, Kalabahi and Betun.
Meanwhile, the projects in NTB, in cooperation with a German firm, will be located in Sape, Dompu, Empang, Lunyuk, and Pekat.
