PT Arya Watala Capital has been declared as one of the independent power producers (IPPs) which have passed pre-qualification tender for solar power plant projects in Sumatra held by state-owned electricity firm PT PLN a few months ago.

This was revealed by President Director Arya Watala Capital, Aria Witoelar to Petromindo.com last week.

He said that Arya Watala participated in tender for two of the six-package projects offered by PLN. ?We?re now waiting for the PLN instruction to move to the next stage,? he said.

PLN opened in May of this year tender for scattered solar power plant projects at 155 locations in Sumatra with combined capacity of 167.58 MW.

Meanwhile, Director for Miscellaneous Renewable Energy at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Maritje Hutapea said that there are 62 IPPs which have passed the PQ tender.

She said that after passing the PQ tender, the IPPs will be requested to submit project proposal which among others contain development plan and funding sources. ?We?ll see which ones can meet the criteria,? she said, adding that if construction process goes smoothly, it would be completed within a year.
