Asam-Asam coal-fired power plant completely damaged

Coal-fired Asam-Asam power plant in Tanah Laut regency in South Kalimantan was completely damaged after Barikin and Cempaka grids?s transmission lines exploded after trees fell on the grids, Media Indonesia reported on Thursday.
As a result, there has been a blackout in several areas of South Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan provinces.
State electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN)?s South Kalimantan-Central Kalimantan Area general manager Ari Agus Salim said his company has already deployed technicians to do repairs and restore electricity supply.
The power plant, which is owned by state electricity company PLN?s subsidiary PT Indonesia Power, has two power generating units, which has respectively the capacity of 65 Megawatt. (*)
