Asia Grand Capital plans two power plants

The paper quoted Thijs Sablerolle, an official at Asia Grand Capital, as saying that construction is expected to start early next year in the hope that the projects will be completed in 2017.
Called the Jeneponto 1 and 2, respectively with capacity of 62.5 MW and 100 MW, and investment of US$120 million and $200 million, the company has conducted six years of study for the proposed power plant projects to among others assess the win energy potential in the region.
He added that the company was still in negotiation with state-owned power firm PT PLN over the electricity tariff from the planned power plants.
South Sulawesi Governor Syahrul Yasin Limpo welcomes the projects, and has offered Asia Grand to develop other power plant projects in Selayar Islands and Takalar regencies. (*)
