Asia Petroleum Development plans 3D seismic survey at Glagah Kambuna TAC

Asia Petroleum Development (Glagah Kambuna) Ltd plans to conduct a 3D marine seismic acquisition over the entire area of its Glagah Kambuna TAC, offshore North Sumatra, in January next year.

According to company?s tender announcement released Tuesday, the seismic survey would be carried out over approximately 350 square kilometers area with water depth of 10m-60m.

APD, a subsidiary of UK oil firm Serica Energy PLC, is the operator with a 55 percent interest in the Glagah Kambuna TAC, located approximately 45 kilometers north of Medan.

The firm has actually made discovery at the Kambuna 1 well.

The recent appraisal drilling at the Kambuna 2 well resulted in a flow of gas at a stabilised rate of 17.5 million cubic feet per day and condensate of 55 degrees API at 1,500 barrels per day.

APD schedules to submit a Plan of Development for the Kambuna field to state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina before the end of 2005. (Robert)
