Asia Petroleum Development starts 2D seismic survey at Billiton block

Asia Petroleum Development (Biliton) Ltd. has started a 2000-square kilometer 2D seismic survey at Billiton block offshore Java Sea.
“The Biliton seismic survey started on January 28. The survey will probably finish in about 2 weeks time,” company general manager John Grant told Petromindo.Com.
John said they have no plans to drill on Biliton this year.
The Biliton block covers an area of 6,577 square kilometers. The block is located in Bangka Belitung province, southern of Sumatra.
Last November, the government awarded the block to a consortium of PT Mitra Archipelago Investment and Asia Petroleum Development. (robert)
