Singapore Exchange-Listed shipping firm ASL Marine Holdings announced on Thursday that delivery of 65,000 DWT floating coal terminal pontoon was again delayed to first quarter of next year.

In January 2006 announcement, the company scheduled the terminal would be operational in the third quarter of this year, which was 9 months later than the original schedule.

The company did not give reason for the delay.

The pontoon would be chartered on 10-year contract to East Kalimantan coal terminal operator PT Dermaga Perkasapratama.

Dermaga will use the floating terminal for the unloading of coal from the barges; storage of coal; and subsequent loading of coal onto ocean-going vessels.

Charter rate is about US$5 million per 12-month period and the contract can be extended for another 10 years subject to mutual agreement between the two parties, said ASL in January 2006. (alex)
