Aster Mobility Solutions, a unit of Indonesia’s Chandra Asri Group and owner of the Esso fuel station network in Singapore, has formed a strategic partnership with supermarket operator Cold Storage to upgrade retail offerings at Esso stations, the company said on Thursday.
Under the agreement, Cold Storage will gradually take over convenience retail operations at Esso stations from FairPrice Group, which has been a long-standing partner. The transition will take place over the next few months.
Aster said the partnership aims to transform Esso stations into integrated energy and convenience hubs, offering a refreshed retail concept that includes everyday essentials and ready-to-eat products tailored to customers on the move.

Andre Khor, Deputy CEO of Aster, said the collaboration reflects efforts to enhance the service station experience by combining fuel services with greater retail convenience.
Cold Storage Managing Director Lim Boon Cheong said the partnership would leverage the retailer’s food sourcing capabilities and Esso’s strategic locations to improve accessibility and value for customers.
ExxonMobil Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd., which supplies fuels to Esso stations in Singapore, said it would continue providing high-performance petrol, diesel and renewable diesel under the new arrangement.
