Astra eyeing power plant business

The company?s investor relations manager Richard Santosa was quoted by Republika newspapers as saying that Astra, teaming up with undisclosed partner, had laid eyes on several power plant projects. He said the partner is quite experienced in power plant business.
Richard, however, said that the company thus far had yet submitted bid to any power plant project.
He said that Astra?s experience in supplying coal to power plants would help the company to enter power plant business.
Astra, through its subsidiary PT. United Tractors has 100 percent stake in PT.Pama Persada Nusantara, the country?s number one coal mining contractors. Aside from contracting Pama is also involved in coal trading and is currently eyeing to acquire coal mine. (*)
