The paper quoted Billy P. Kadar, President Director of PT Pelabuhan Penajam, a subsidiary of PT Astratel Nusantara, as saying that UT will take up about 25 percent of the total capacity of the logistics hub, which was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo in March.
UT plans to store 75-100 units of its heavy equipment at the logistics hub, thus allowing the company to save cost.
Both Astratel and UT are subsidiaries of IDX-listed PT Astra International Tbk.
Billy declined to provide further details about the expected contract from UT. PT Pelabuhan Penajam current has two relatively small contracts.
He said that getting the UT contract will help the company to win larger contract from an oil and gas contractor, which in turn will increase the utilization of the bonded logistics hub to 80 percent. He declined to provide further details as the company is still talks with the would-be client. (*)
