Coal mining company PT Astri Mining Resources is expecting to produce about 1.4 million tons this year from its coal concession in Batu Licin district, Tanah Bambu regency, South Kalimantan, down from 1.8 million tons last year.

Marketing Director Andi Ananda Manggabarani told Petromindo.com on Wednesday that the company is cutting down its production due to continued rains.

"Last year, we were able tor produce about 150,000 tons per month but this year we are only targeting about 120,000 tons per month due to continued rains," Andi said adding most of coal produced by Astri is allocated for domestic buyers.
