Coal mining company PT Astri Mining Resources expected output this year to reach 2.2 million tons, or a more than 37 percent drop compared to last year?s production of 3.5 million tons from its concession in Batu Licin, South Kalimantan.
Presdient Director Henry Soetio told to Petromindo.com recently that this was a realistic production given the current bearish global coal market condition.
"If the market recovers, we might be back to normal production rate of about 300,000 tons per month from Astri Mining," he said, adding that all the coal output from Astri Mining are destined to India.
