Coal trading and mining firm PT Andalan Tiga Berjaya (ATB) expects to be able to start production from its two mines in Kalimantan in 2009.

President Commissioner RA Sunardi told Petromindo.Com on Monday that the company’s 40 percent-owned Asmin Bara Jaan and Asmin Bara Bronang mines in central Kalimantan could commence production at the rate of 1.5 million tonnes per annum.

Sunardi said the mine would produce coal with CV value of around 5,900 Kcal/kg.

He went on to say that ATB has secured 400,000 tonnes of spot coal supply contract to Philippines’ National Power Corp. (Napocor), with delivery has started last February.

He said coal for Napocor contract was sourced from South Kalimantan miner PT. Tanjung Alam Jaya and a coal mining unit of PT.Pamapersada Nusantara.(denny)
