Indonesia listed coal producer company, PT Atlas Resources Tbk hopes that commercial production at its coal unit PT Ratna Utama Karya (RUK) in Berau Regency, East Kalimantan, to start in the second quarter of 2013, which is a delay from previous target of second semester of 2012, a source at the company told Petromindo.com

Atlas is now evaluating the results of a recent exploration activity, which has been temporarily stopped since December 2012, the source said.

Atlas has conducted exploration activity at its RUK mine from March to November 2012. Atlas acquired 50 percent stake in RUK through its other coal unit PT Berau Bara Energi (BBE) in January 2012.

In mid 2012, Dono Boestami, Finance Director and Corporate Secretary of Atlas Resources told Petromindo.com that the company's initial production from RUK would be about 110,000 tons.
