Atlas eyes S. Sumatra mine mouth power plant project

IDX-listed coal mining firm PT Atlas Resources Tbk said it has submitted application to participate in tender of mine mouth power plant project with capacity of 1x300 MW in Musi Rawas Utara Regency, South Sumatra Province, held by state-owned electricity firm PT PLN.
?This project will utilize coal reserve from Mutara Hub (coal concession),? Atlas said in a statement on Friday, but did not provide further details.
As has been previously reported by this portal, Atlas said it was looking to enter power plant development as part of diversification strategy as the government aims to bolster power plant development in the country.
Atlas? Mutara Hub consists of five mining concessions located in Musi Rawas district and Musi Banyuasin district, South Sumatra, covering a total area of more than 41,000 ha.
