IDX-listed coal mining company PT Atlas Resources Tbk said it will fourfold coal supply to state-owned electricity company PT PLN in the first semester of this year to 825,000 tons compared to 192,931 tons in the same period of last year.
?In the first semester of last year, supply was 192,931 tons,? said Lidwina S. Nugraha, Atlas Corporate Secretary, to Petromindo.com on Thursday.
Atlas has five contracts to supply coal to PLN?s five coal-fired power plants (PLTU) including PLTU Pangkalan Susu, PLTU Pelabuhan Ratu, PLTU Tarahan Baru, PLTU Teluk Sirih, and PLTU Teluk Naga.
The company obtained the 20-year coal supply contracts through subsidiary PT Hanson Energy, with the first coal supply made in 2014.
Atlas, which operates mines in South Sumatra and East Kalimantan, plans to slightly increase production this year to 2.2 million tons from 1.75 million tons last year.
