ATPK plans new drilling, surpasses monthly output target

IDX-listed PT ATPK Resources Tbk recently stated its plan to conduct further drilling on the Southern Block of its subsidiary company's concession Mega Alam Sejahtera.

"The drilling is meant to figure out the stripping ratio in the area as well as to decide which area is suitable for a new mining pit," company director Deradjat Kasmono said in a statement, adding that major improvements are continuously underway at MAS? concession in Teluk Bayur regency, including ROM stockyard expansion, main hauling road maintenance, pond setting and stockpiling refurbishment near the northern Segah river branch, its logistic line.

?We also continue the construction of our hauling road in the southern block, overburden hauling from Pit III on the northern block to Pit II for stockpiling, from Pit I on the Southern block to the disposal area,? he said.

Production from Pit III accounted to a total of 90,676 tons this June, with Pit I accounted to a total of 65,343 tons during the same month, accumulating to a total of 156,320 tons or surpassing its planed 150,000 tons monthly output for the concession.

It conducted seven coal transshipments throughout June, carrying a total of 48,659 tons.

The company also stated that topographic mapping in areas surrounding PIT III area in the Northern Block and PIT I in the Southern Block are currently underway to figure out the overburden ratio of the mines, in addition to topographic mapping in the stockpiling area to figure out amount of coal being stockpiled and adjusting it with PIT I and PIT III mining plan.

ATPK recently stated its plan to divest five of its six concessions this year, consisting of four coal and one nickel concessions. One of the coal concessions, under PT Sarana Mandiri Utama, was initially slated to start production in the middle of this year.
