IDX-listed coal producer PT ATPK Resources Tbk plans to ramp up output by 50 percent this year to 3 million tons from 2 million tons last year.

Raymond A. Bernardus, President Director of ATPK told Petromindo.com last week that the company is increasing production as it has already acquired all of the equipment belonging to its former contractor PT Pasific Prima Coal (PPC).

?We have purchased all the equipment by using funds from rights issue," he said.

Previously the company stated that in order to comply with existing regulations obliging IUP license holder to carry out mining works without the help of contractor it would purchase PPC's equipment used at the company?s concession.

The company owns a coal concession in Berau, East Kalimantan, totaling 3,274 hectares. The company hired PPC in 2009 as its contractor in the project.
