ATPK sees coal production at 1.23 MT in 2010

IDX-listed coal mining firm PT ATPK Resources says its coal mining subsidiary PT Mega Alam Sejahtera will start production this month.
The mine, which is located in Berau province, will initially produce 30,000 tonnes of coal per month (tpm), ramping up to 125,000 tpm by the end of 2010.
MAS has 41 million tons of coal resources and 14 million tons of proven reserve with a calorie content of 5,100 kcal/kg (ADB).
The company?s other subsidiary PT Sarana Mandiri Utama (SMU) is also projected to start commercial production in August next year with output of 60,000 tpm.
The company projected coal production from the two mines to reach 1.23 million tonnes in 2010. (denny)
